Hucclecote Accounting and Taxation Services (HATS for short) is a general accountancy practice, offering a full spectrum of services, giving you a service that’s tailored to your needs.  We mainly act for small, owner managed businesses, self-employed individuals and personal tax clients.

As a regulated, member firm of the Associated of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), you can be assured that you will be in safe hands. Our team of Chartered and Certified Accountants, together with our support staff are patient, approachable and professional.  Between us, we have a great deal of experience and knowledge so as a client, you will always find someone on hand to help with any queries you might have.

You can find us on the Hucclecote Road in Gloucester, conveniently located with free parking on site.  Our team work from the office and unlike some other firms, we do not subcontract any of our work overseas.

History of ‘HATS’

The business was originally set up by Alan Evans who traded for many years as Alan Evans & Co, based in Brockworth, Gloucester.  In 2001, the firm relocated to Hucclecote at which point Alan decided to rebrand to HATS Gloucester Ltd trading as Hucclecote Accounting & Taxation Services.  In 2006, Julian Watkins took ownership of the business and since then we have gradually expanded to the size we are today.

We moved to our current office in October 2023, giving us extra space and a more prominent position in the centre of Hucclecote.  With sixteen members of staff we are large enough to provide a breadth of knowledge, experience and support yet still retaining the feel of a small, friendly team.
